Psychedelic First Aid/CPR Certification

New to 2019, this standalone 3-day program is designed to cover all of the mental health crises, medical emergencies, worst case scenarios, and physical safety requirements all psychedelic facilitators need to know how to handle.  The program is a combination of mental health first aid, crisis intervention and wilderness first responders training, specifically focusing on crises sometimes caused by psychedelics and other drugs, including overdoses. The training will include a Conscious Cannabis Circle for trainees, and a two year CPR certification.

Topics will include panic, vomit, paranoia, psychosis, suicidality, mania, and other severe mental health episodes, situations that don’t happen that often but do happen often enough to be a serious problem. On the first aid side, the class would specifically address overdoses, falling, injuries, passing out, hypertension, heart problems, heart attacks, strokes, seizures, and harm prevention (weighing medicines, dehydration etc).  Participants will learn what tools they need in the toolkits, including psychedelic antidotes, and how to discern physical and mental health emergencies from the typically weird but normal psychedelic experience.
